At the young age off 15, Vanessa's first job was a casual Shoe Sales Consultant working in a apparel store. After she matriculated, she started her first job in a Banking institution. Over the next couple of years (8years), she worked her way up the chain of command from personal assistant to Supervisor, moving through data typing, administration, inter accounts, reconciliations & ending up in Foreign Exchange. During  this time she gained amounts of experience in the financial banking world. Her banking world came to an end as she went to work in the financial pharmaceutical world (7 years) as a manager in banking & cash-ups. She has 40 staff members to manage as well. Her financial career came to a shuddering halt as Vanessa was fired for charges she did not commit. Knowing this she decided to take this matter further to clear her name & with the help of an advocate, won her case in court & was found innocent of all charges.  This is one of her stories that she shares ....

​Yet, during her court trials, 3 - 4 years of intense battles & delays, she started to doubt herself. She fell into a deep depression which lasted 4 years. While unemployed & at home, she felt like a failure as a wife, mother & bread winner. One day realizing that all is not the end because she always had another talent she had been hiding for years. Her sewing talent that everyone knew of but herself.

 

Vanessa has been sewing garments for her self, family & friends since 10 years old. She then, stared her own business in the line of fashion designing, called Sashes House of Purple Girdle & has now branched out into her brand name, Vanessa Fanfoni Haute Couture. Vanessa is a self taught Fashion Designer with over 25years of sewing & designing experience. Over the course of her Fashion Designing Career she has got to created outfits for brides, models, music artists & other clients, national & international. She now shares her her experience with her students (Interns from Fashion Design Schools, Sewing students, her coaching students). Basically, she pioneers individuals in a personal & or professional capacity to self-improve themselves or persue a successful career as an Entrepreneur.
